Our acupuncturist on Spotlight : Hanna Chung
“Hanna is recommended by other medical practitioners”
“The true effectiveness of healing is not determined by what type of degree or what school you went; sometimes, not even how many years you have been practicing. The only and true effectiveness of any medical treatment is in actual healing itself.” (Ancient Sage)
“When it comes treating people, you are talking about treating someone’s life. The medical practice is not about money, it’s about treating people who has unmeasurable worth and value, because all of us are created by the Creator. Human life is sacred because each of us has a immortal soul within us that are designed to live forever whether you believe it or not.”
MY STORY:
I have three wonderful daughters. My last daughter, Lisa, was born as healthy as my other two daughters. But when she was 8 months old, she started having seizures, and from there my life changed forever. In spite of all the modern Western medical intervention of what they could provide through the best doctors, hospitals, drugs, medications, ER visits, tests, diagnoses – the intractable seizures my daughter has suffered and is suffering has been a part of my life journey until this very day. I experienced what pain and suffering is through the pain of my own child, and what it means to take care of someone who is so vulnerable. And I also understand what is like to stand and watch helplessly of a pain and suffering of beloved one.
My daughter’s seizure were getting worse even the increased dosage of medications were keep added, changed, altered, and mixed. I changed the hospital to UCLA from CHOC, yet different medications didn’t help either. We were at the maximum dosage of what Lisa could tolerate on her body, and the doctor was talking about adding more medications because her seizures were keep getting worse. I was lost. And then, fortunately, I was introduced by a church member who had her sister’s son had similar seizure condition and medications didn’t help. Her son was cured by a renowned acupuncture doctor, Youn Koo, Chung, in Torrance, CA. (People call him master Chung, he is retired now). We discovered many other epilepsy patients were cured through him as well as many people with so-called incurable diseases through his treatment. My husband and I tried two acupuncturist before, as you can guess, we have tried everything you can possibly imagine. But we went to Dr. Chung and miracle happened. Through his acupuncture treatment, my daughter was able to get off from all the medications, and her seizures reduced to something that we can manage without medications.
I was so inspired by master Chung, I wanted to become his student and learn from him, which I did. I went to South Baylo University, for Master level course to become a licensed acupuncturist. I wouldn’t be able to do what I am doing now with just the materials I learned from the school (even I graduated as a top student). And I am eternally indebted to master Chung, because I was able to see and understand how actual healing can take place based on immutable principle that exists in the universe and in human body. And I am following his foot-step, bringing healing and hope for those who are in pain and suffering. It’s a life-long journey of studying and learning this art and science of Eastern medicine. And I am grateful for it.
I have a sense of mission to help people who are suffering from their pain and sickness. I see a light what Eastern medicine can do to complement and to provide an excellent options for those who have no options. We live in a world where medicine became an huge industry driven by a profit. The true spirit of healing, seeing a person as holistic being with a soul and body, is losing its soul in the awake of profit driven medical industry. Yet there are many well-meaning physicians and organizations who have hope and inspiration to pursue the truth – putting the patients first; and I have faith that things will be better. I hope that the work that I do can make a difference for people and for our community. Even I can help one person from the pain and suffering, I find a meaning that is valuable so much that it is worthy to pursue this path that has been marked out for me.
